Thank you to the Strong family in Southeast Iowa!
I was so thrilled to be able to design this and bring this sign to life!
To be honest, I have never added an elephant design before and I was concerned how she would turn out!
I use stencils I either design on the laptop myself or purchase from other designers.
This baby elephant was painted in Driftwood before adding the Caviar and Fluff Dixie Belle Paint for the eyes. I still had a little Coastal Coral and Soft Pink on my sponge brush from painting the hearts. So I used what little paint was left and went over lightly, sort of dry brushed, the areas for the baby cheeks and ears.
I could not be more pleased, I mean, she is even blushing!
Thank you to the Strong Family for asking me to do this!
To see other pieces I have done, check out my albums on my Facebook page!
Please like and follow my page while you there so we can stay in touch!

On a Personal Note:
Recently my daughter, Dani used last months email subscription Freebie (Real Wood Frame Mockup) in one of her posts to showcase her current favorite sayings!
Didn’t she do a great job!
It was an honor being asked to be featured.
AIP is short for Auto Immune Protocol. In general, we for a time eliminate all common causes of foods that are known to cause inflammation for at least a 30 day period and slowly bring them back to find out specifically what foods make us feel crappy! There is really no polite way to say this other than crap! If your curious, check out Traceys story on her website Fit Fifty and Fearless.
This is it!!
The Southern Iowa Junk Jaunt starts this Friday! I’ve already spotted a few items posted on their facebook page that I will be after!
And yes, I’ll need my truck!
Until next Sunday, I hope you have a great week!
My favorite Products:
I love reading a good book with my favorite blanket and a cup of coffee. Lately I have not found or made the time to do this. Which is a shame but why I love audio books and podcast! I can listen to these in the car, cleaning the house or when I’m working in my studio.
The current audio book I am listening to is Body Love by Kelly LeVeque. So far this has been a great break away from political and tv drama!
I love my new “beginner” camera! I am still using the auto mode and then tweaking the photos afterwards. I am also binge watching you tube videos on how to take great pictures on manual mode! With practice I hope you see a great improvement as time goes on!
his is my ALL time favorite sealer I have used on my projects the past 12+ months! It provides great protection without the shine that I want for my signs. I use this sealer on all projects that will be used indoors where most of my signs are placed. If I have a customer request an outdoor sign, I use a different sealer for that purpose.
I am a FIRM believe in completing (or painting) the backside and sealing all my signs. To me, that just completes the look and protects the wood. I also use these sawtooth hangers and nail set on my signs lightweight signs also.
The Strong newborn sign was done in Dixie Belle Chalk Paint Fluff for the background. The baby elephant in Driftwood. The hearts and blush on the elephant done in Coastal Coral and Soft Pink. My local retailer is in Knoxville, Iowa. Anna from the Furniture Boutique. You can find her here on Facebook.
1″ Pine wood. Purchased and cut down from my local lumber store, Falveys here in Albia, Iowa.
The letter R for my next project was purchased at my favorite craft store Hobby Lobby. these are usually featured in their 50% off “wall decor” selection. If it’s not on sale this week, check next week!
