Designing our sign
I use Silhouette American business edition and Cameo 3 to make my stencils.
The basic edition of Silhouette Studio is free to download and use, click here to check it out!

Prepping our sign
Now it’s time to crack open our paint!
Here I will show you how I prep my sign and one of my tips I started doing that has made my process go a little smoother!
What is it?
I complete the back of the sign first!
Yes I paint and seal the back of all my signs!
Wood is porous and I want my signs sealed front and back to help preserve them as long as I can.
I complete the backside first, including adding the hanger and my label.
Check out the video below to see the full process plus prepping the front of our sign!
Background and Blending
This is where the magic happens with our sign!
Here I will show you how I get that rustically blending background!
Personalizing our sign
Now it’s time to add the finishing touch!
Here I will show you how I add the final stencil design and the final touch, sealing for protection!
That is it!
