For our class, our instructor wanted a before picture. This is the one I submitted.
Now I will confess, I have no idea exactly what my design was going to entail. All I know, I needed to apply two coats of BOSS primer and then the base coat of Dixie Belle’s Fluff. I know I wanted a wow factor but I was unsure at the time if having checkers on display at all times would be too much. I have to confess. I am OBSESSED with checks now! I want to paint everything with either checks or stripes! I even found painters tape 1/4″ width so I can do really small designs.
Things did not go as planned. I had a few touch ups on the first side to fix before moving on. A little discouraged, but determined.
In order to complete these checks, this involved a box cutter and almost a roll of 1″ painters tape! Once I figured out how to do the pattern, it wasn’t too hard.
Both sides complete. Now i’m trying to decide what colors to use!
Mermaid tail by Dixie Belle is my new favorite green!
At this point, I am getting inspired!
My dilemma is finding a third color. I know I will be adding gold accents but in order to stick with the Alice in Wonderland theme, I need to go bold.
I love this color combination. Mermaid Tail and Amethyst
She is still in progress but I plan to have her completed by the Southern Iowa Junk Jaunt for Mid-October!
I will post more updates here when she is completed.
