Well Hello Sweet Cheeks! This was a fun project to work on during my Facebook Live! The idea of using the backside of a wood canvas was not my own but came from one of my MPD Tribe members on another project! Brilliant! This provided an instant framed sign to craft with, let me show you how!
Supplies I Used
- 8 x 10 Wood Canvas from Hobby Lobby
- I used the following Dixie Belle Paint: Midnight Sky, Hurricane Gray & Lemonade

let’s get started!
After removing the plastic from my wood canvas panel, I turned her over and grabbed my paints!
I started out with Dixie Belle’s Hurricane Gray and painted the entire panel with this color.
Once she was dry, I applied my Hello Sweet Cheeks stencil.
You can click here to see how I use contact paper for both my stencil material and my transfer tape and how to apply them to your projects.
For the lettering, I decide to use Dixie Belle’s Lemonade.
Once this paint was dry, I carefully removed the stencil material.
I love how this turned out!
As you can see in the video I did make a mistake when I was weeding my stencil.
I missed part of a letter.
If that should happen to you, you can go back into your Silhouette program.
Select the specific letter or word you want, copy and paste it onto another design space page and re-cut just what you need.
After I re-cut the letter I needed, I carefully applied this small stencil and re-painted that area and fixed my missing letter.
And that is exactly how i fixed my Hello Sweet Cheeks sign!
Adding a chippy look
I wanted to incorporate some blue into my sign so I used a chip brush and dry brushed the frame with Dixie Belle’s Midnight Sky.
After I was done with my Facebook live, I kept playing with it and adding more.
Later that day, I went back and dry brushed a little Lemonade to the frame also and I knew then she was done!
Let me know what you think!
